Softech & Associates is ready to assist customers that will need to upgrade from IBM FileNet Content Manager 3.5.x and 4.0 due to IBM's announcement that those products will be withdrawn from support beginning in 2010. IBM announced on December 8, 2009 that the following FileNet Content Manager releases will be withdrawn from support effective on the dates listed below:
IBM FileNet Content Manager 3.5.0 09/30/2010
IBM FileNet Content Manager 3.5.2 09/30/2010
IBM FileNet Content Manager 4.0.0 04/30/2011

IBM FileNet Content Manager 3.x to FileNet P8 4.5 or 5.x is a change of underlying architecture from Microsoft technology to J2EE technology that may be of unfamiliar territory for your in-house resources. Installation and configuration expertise is very costly to acquire and maintain and the infrequency of usage are inefficient to have in-house resources.
Detailed knowledge of both old and new versions are required for mapping data and security structures, but you will not gain that knowledge until after you've migrated the system, Softech & Associates has that knowledge and expertise.
